The Congress Parliamentary Board (CPB) had been shelved by Narasimha Rao in 1992 and was never restored, even though the party constitution provided for it. The board, as per the party constitution, is supposed to regulate and coordinate the party’s parliamentary activities and frame rules. The three-day plenary session of the Congress party began on Friday in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The rule providing for the inclusion of parliamentary board members in the CEC is proposed to be deleted. The last time the Congress constitution was amended was on 7 November 2007.

New Delhi: Air India plans to let go of Vistara brand if its merger gets the required regulatory approval as the airline feels the marquee brand has more global recognition. “There is a desire to carry forward the heritage of both Air India and Vistara into the new Air India. The process of integration of Vistara with Air India is underway and is now awaiting approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI), he said, adding that the integration of Air India Express and AIX Connect, earlier known as AirAsia India, is also afoot. Air India came under heavy criticism for failing to handle the incident and also for not reporting it. The other incident took place December 6 on an Air India flight from Paris to India.

The Australian foreign minister said Canberra “strongly supports” India’s G20 presidency and welcomes its ambitious, action-oriented agenda for the grouping under the “One Earth, One Family, One Future” theme. “This will be my first visit to India as foreign minister, and I look forward to meeting my counterparts at the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi,” Wong said in a statement. “Australia strongly supports India’s G20 presidency and welcomes India’s ambitious, action-oriented G20 agenda, under the theme ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’,” Wong said. The Australian foreign minister said she is visiting the two countries to advance Australia’s bilateral relationships and promote its interests in a peaceful, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. It will involve the navies of India, Australia, Japan and the US.
