Arlington man faces charges after Austin street takeover

An Arlington man was arrested in Austin after a “street takeover” over the weekend where drivers obstructed roads, drove recklessly and shot off fireworks. Videos posted online show vehicles doing doughnuts, with crowds gathering around intersections in Austin and people setting off fireworks. Gore told authorities he was only in Austin for the takeover and he had conflicting stories about the stolen firearm, according to the affidavit. On Tuesday, another man was arrested in West Texas in connection with a Grapevine street takeover on New Year’s Eve, police said. Authorities are investigating the Dec. 31 takeover, where drivers revved their engines and drove dangerously at the intersection of Main Street and Dallas Road, police said.

Woolworths enjoyed rising earnings and profit in the half year but warned of further challenges to come. Supermarket heavyweight Woolworths Group [ASX:WOW] has followed competitor Coles Group [ASX:COL] in announcing its half-year results. Woolworths’ food sales increased 2.4%, despite a decline of 7.5% in e-commerce sales as more consumers opted for shopping in store. Food-related inflation continued to rise in the half, applying cost pressure across the industry as well as for customers already facing cost-of-living pressures.

The woman complained about Irvin’s conduct, leading Irvin to be escorted from the hotel property the next morning and both NFL Network and ESPN to pull him from Super Bowl-week appearances. According to a court document The News obtained, Marriott also was asked to produce any written reports and/or witness statements involving Irvin’s stay at the Phoenix hotel. Lastly, they requested the names of anyone at the NFL whom Marriott contacted about Irvin. The lawsuit’s original petition accused Marriott employees of “inaccurately and inflammatorily” accusing Irvin of misconduct to the NFL in an attempt to “cancel” him. Marriott also banned Irvin from all its properties, according to the document.
