Plus, it's hard to justify most fighting game fans on the East Coast and Midwest staying up past midnight just to watch the finals of the largest game. 25k extra prize pool at EVO is really nice but I don't know how to feel about having top 6 finalist instead of top 8. For added clarity: If prize pool development significantly exceeds the guaranteed minimum for any game, placements awarded and percentages may be adjusted. Large-scale fighting game tournaments are complicated, and profit margins are typically small at best.
