Ocala police officers have arrested a man in connection with a Friday night hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist in northwest Ocala. James Calvin Newson, 76, was picked up at his Ocala home after the crash and taken to the Ocala Police Department for questioning. Witnesses told officers the pickup pulled out from 22nd Street and into the bike’s path. Evidence recovered at the sceneOfficers found a license’s plate at the crash scene and they were able to trace it to Newson. Contact Austin L. Alec Baldwin Sued by Three ‘Rust’ Crew Members for ‘Blast Injuries’

Three “Rust” crew members sued Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers on Monday, alleging they have suffered anxiety and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the shooting death of the film’s cinematographer. According to the suit, all three were in close proximity to Baldwin when the gun was fired, and suffered “blast injuries” from the deafening sound of the shot. The three plaintiffs join several other crew members who have filed suits in New Mexico and California, including the script supervisor, set medic and gaffer. The producers expect to resume shooting this spring in Montana, with Baldwin still in the lead role. Hutchins’ parents and sister filed suit earlier this month.

The Ames boys won their 4A Substate 6 semifinal game over Ankeny with an impressive comeback Friday in Ames. Clark finished the Hudson game with 15 points. Jamison Poe, AmesPoe was the star of the night for the Ames boys during their substate semifinal victory over Ankeny.

The movie about a Chinese-American laundromat owner struggling to finish her taxes amid family turmoil has claimed a pile of trophies in recent weeks at the Hollywood awards ceremonies leading up to the Academy Awards on March 12. On Sunday, the cast of Everything Everywhere was named best film ensemble by members of the SAG-AFTRA acting union. The science-fiction movie also earned awards for lead female actor Michelle Yeoh, who portrays laundry owner Evelyn Wang, and supporting actors Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis. Everything Everywhere previously scored the top accolades at the Directors Guild and Producers Guild Awards. The SAG Award for best male movie actor went to Brendan Fraser for playing a reclusive, severely obese man trying to reconnect with his daughter in The Whale.
