The Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines recommend that adults accumulate at least 150 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity per week. This month, Research Co. and Glacier Media asked Canadians about their adherence to these guidelines before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Only 21 per cent of Canadians claim to have met the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines every week for the past three months. Atlantic Canada is a bit of a success story, with 19 per cent of residents meeting the exercise guidelines before COVID-19 and 16 per cent staying strong during the pandemic. Just over a third of residents (34 per cent) say they met the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines every week before COVID-19.
