The Panthers have beaten the Eels 22-16 in the grand final rematch after Parramatta star recruit Josh Hodgson endured a horror start in his club debut. Despite the Eels having plenty of ball and opportunities, the Panthers lead 18-4 at halftime. Jaeman Salmon was the only premiership winner in the Penrith line up with both clubs blooding a string of rookies. It wasn’t so much the skill - and make no mistake they boast a conveyor belt of junior talent - but the way in which they played ‘the Penrith way’. They conceded two length-of-the-field tries after coughing up the ball while pressing the Panthers’ line and it was largely due to the indecision of their halves.
