After racing for 2022 as a derogated Bronze driver, she’ll now compete as a Silver-graded driver for her second season of GT racing. 2021 GT America GT3 champion Luck and 2021 World Challenge Pro-Am champion Heylen will drive the newest Porsche 911 GT3 R (992). Wilzoch took a sabbatical from racing last year, after a partial 2021 campaign in GT America headlined by an overall victory in Road America. Bartone Bros ran a partial season in Porsche GT4s split between GT America and GT4 America, and will now run the full season in GT America’s top category. TechSport Racing, pilot customers for the new Nissan Z GT4, have announced their driver line-ups for their inaugural season in GT4 America.

42 Cars Entered For 2023 SUPER GT Series

The GT Association (GTA) released the full-season entry list for the 2023 Autobacs SUPER GT Series today. In total, 42 cars have entered, consisting of 15 cars in the premier GT500 class, and 27 cars in the GT300 class. Six Toyota GR Supra GT500s have entered, including the #36 au TOM’s GR Supra for Sho Tsuboi and Ritomo Miyata, and the #37 Deloitte TOM’s GR Supra for Toyota Gazoo Racing newcomer Ukyo Sasahara alongside Giuliano Alesi. LM Corsa retain Hiroki Yoshimoto and Shunsuke Kohno in their #60 Syntium LM corsa GR Supra, which will feature a reprofiled aero package. Finally, Pacific Racing Team will continue despite losing CarGuy Racing as a partner and Cover Corporation (parent company of Hololive Production) as a title sponsor.

Bathurst 12 Hour: Hour 3 Report

The #888 Supercheap Auto Mercedes heads the field at the end of Hour 3, taking advantage of a pit stop under safety car to leapfrog the #999 GruppeM Mercedes. The early leader, the #999 GruppeM Mercedes, rounds the top 5, in 4th place. The reason for the safety car was to recover the #4 Grove Racing EBM Porsche, which hit the wall hard at McPhillamy, coming to rest on the entry to Skyline. Prior to the safety car, there was drama for the #65 Sportsbet Audi. The safety car and corresponding wavearound enabled a number of the Pro-Am and Silver Cup cars to stay on the lead lap.

2023 Rolex 24 Hours, Hours 2&3: Cetilar Ferrari Is First Retirement As #01 Cadillac Leads

The #7 Porsche of Felipe Nasr had slowed to a halt just after the start of the second hour, but eventually Felipe Nasr was able to continue. The #47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari had gone behind the wall and lost several laps with a bodywork issue. They returned to the track, only to go back to the garage and retire after one hour and 40 minutes of running. The Lamborghini came to a rest against the tyre barriers, resulting in a full-course caution, the second of the race. The garage door came down soon afterwards – the long-time class leader soon also confirmed as a retirement.

2023 Rolex 24 Hours, Hour 1: Acura Leads First Chapter of the New Era

A new era of North American endurance racing has begun at Daytona International Speedway, and Tom Blomqvist has had the honour of leading the first hour in the 61st annual Rolex 24 Hours. The defending Rolex 24 and IMSA premier class champion combination set a searing pace from the beginning. His opening charge was only halted slightly when the #8 Tower Motorsports Oreca LMP2 07 came to a stop entering the speedway’s oval section, bringing out the first full-course caution three minutes into the race. But Engel soon had to battle against the #23 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Ross Gunn. Likewise, in GTD, the first hour was closely contested between Team Korthoff Motorsports and Sun Energy 1 Racing.

FIA WEC Reveal 38 Car Full Season Entry – 13 Hypercars For Breakthrough Season

The 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship will welcome a 38 car full season entry. All told that gives a top class field that has more than doubled from the peak entry in 2022 (6 cars at Monza). LMP2 – 11 CarsLMP2, following the removal of the LMP2 Pro-Am class from the WEC this coming season, still welcomes a healthy 11 car class. 2022 FIA WEC Champions JOTA field a single full season Oreca with the crew announced last week : David Heinemeier Hansson, Pietro Fittipaldi and Oliver Rasmussen. Team Owner and FIA WEC ‘Mr Ever Present’ Christian Ried is listed aboard the #77 as a Dempsey Proton entry.

#7 Toyota Wins 8H Bahrain As Titles Decided

A splash for the #91 on the very final lap did however promote the #92 to third in the race and second in the title race. PREMA took fourth on the road in Bahrain, ahead of the #41 Realteam by WRT ORECA that completed the top five. Another title winning success for Bronze-rated Francois Perrodo, who now has fourth titles under his belt in WEC competition after GTE Am wins in 2016, 2019-20 and 2021. Interestingly, Sorensen becomes the only driver in WEC history to win GTE Am and Pro titles with this result. That’s another FIA WEC season in the books.
