Stuart King’s side are 3 points ahead of 9th place Glenavon. Carrick arrive at Windsor Park in good form having won their last 2 games - a 2-0 win away to Newry was followed by a 1-0 home win against Ballymena.Linfield return to Windsor Park following the huge disappointment of the midweek 3-0 defeat at the Oval. Linfield are in 3rd position in a tightly congested top half of the league table - trailing Cliftonville and Larne by four points - and ahead of Coleraine by one point and Crusaders by two points. However, Carrick won the first game between the two teams this season - by a 2-1 score line at Taylor’s Avenue at the end of August. It’s the only time Linfield have dropped points this season against a team in the current bottom half of the table.
