New Delhi: After a classified intelligence report from the US Energy Department reportedly found COVID-19 came from a Chinese lab, 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said that the US needs to lead the way in holding China accountable for the mess. In an interview to Fox News on Sunday, he said, “This is out of a dystopian science fiction novel. What is accountability for China and for the CCP, which tried to sweep this under the rug and this will not go lightly. “I think that accountability starts at home and then we have the foundation to deliver accountability to the Chinese Communist Party. I think accountability on both sides of the pacific is crucial,” Ramaswamy said.

India, China discuss disengagement in remaining Eastern Ladakh friction points at WMCC meet in Beijing

The 26th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) was held in person in Beijing on Wednesday. This was the first WMCC meeting since the 14th one was held in July 2019, to be held in person. The MEA said the two sides agreed to continue discussions through military and diplomatic channels. The 17th round of military talks was held on December 20 but there was no indication of any forward movement in the resolution of the remaining issues. The WMCC meeting in Beijing comes barely a week before the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Delhi.
